UCLA Health Service Assurance Engineer (flex-hybrid) in Los Angeles, California
Description
Under direction of the Service Assurance Manager and as a
member of the UCLA Health Digital Technology (DGIT) team, the Systems
Engineer is responsible for:
application enablement (Box, Atlassian, other)
multi-platform desktop engineering (image creation/validation)
GPO management
enterprise desktop patching and remediation (SCCM, JAMF)
Tier 3 desktop support and related technical service delivery
This
role will help ensure that services and projects are well managed, adhere to
appropriate standards and governance, meet business expectations, and are
operationally supportable. This position is expected to maintain
appropriate documentation for service and system deployments and adhere to ITIL
process governing request, incident, change, and configuration management.
Candidates must have proficient time management skills to
work in a dynamic operations environment with varying priorities and schedule
demands. Excellent communications skills are required for collaboration with
technical and non-technical individuals of the university.
This individual will have a diversified background of
technical IT experience plus a superior, service-oriented
approach. This role will participate in an on-call support rotation
to deliver 24/7 support for business-critical
systems.
This is a flex-hybrid role which will require you to be onsite at least 5% of time or as required by operational need; there are no reimbursements for travel to "home office" location. Each employee must complete a FlexWork Agreement with their manager which will outline arrangement parameters and aids both parties in fully understanding expectations. Arrangements are regularly evaluated and are subject to termination.
Salary offers are determined based on various factors including, but not limited to, qualifications, experience, and equity. The full salary range for this position is $102,500 - $227,700 Annually. The budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position is approximately $120,000 Annually.
Qualifications
Strong ability to plan, create, automate, and execute test plans and test cases in a fast-paced, technically-challenging, service-oriented environment - 5+ years of relevant experience
Familiarity with the following: Microsoft Deployment Tool (MDT), System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM). MacOS Deploy Studio and JAMF (preferred)
Extensive knowledge of Windows and Mac OS (Linux knowledge a plus)
Experience with managing and supporting technical services in an enterprise or large environment
Knowledge or experience with Python, Powershell or other scripting languages (preferred)
Experience in the deployment and support of Active Directory Group Policy, O365, Box.com, Atlassian services, Zoom, Qualtrics, and/or other similar technologies.
Demonstrated ability to prioritize and organize projects, determine, and meet deadlines, and proactively communicate with others in a clear and concise manner.
Demonstrated ability to initiate and maintain cooperative relationships with coworkers, managers, supervisors, customers/clients, and members of the public.
Knowledge of standard security practices and procedures for server and network configurations
Demonstrated ability to create technical documentation that is clearly written, well organized, well structured, and accurate
