Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Senior Art Director to spearhead design efforts for our digital work. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in graphic design and art direction for web and app based creative. This role requires experience in designing with system, enforcing brand guidelines to build consistency, implementing seasonal visual, and artist partners using a blend of strong leadership and hands-on creative expertise. The Senior Art Director will oversee a team of designers, validating and directing their work. They will manage the day-to-day and work with the team to develop creative solutions in response to marketing briefs. The ideal candidate has in-house, and agency experience bringing a blend of strong leadership and hands-on creative expertise.
Key Responsibilities:
Team management: Lead and mentor team of designers providing guidance, feedback and support to foster creative excellence.
Collaboration : Ideate, lead, create, and implement omnichannel digital work. Work with creative leaders and copywriting partners to elevate Walmart’s Brand. Work cross-functionally with marketing, site ops to ensure creative cohesion at every touchpoint
Pursue ways that we can work better, faster.
Manage projects that are on-brief and polished, mitigating feedback, ultimately keeping workstreams on track.
Partner with Creative Account Management and Operations (CAMO) and Production to manage timelines
Enterprise Brand Cohesion: Ensure a unified and consistent brand identity cross all channels
Trend Analysis: Stay informed about industry trends, emerging technologies, and consumer behaviors to inform design decisions and maintain our brand’s competitive edge.
Quality Assurance: Maintain high standards of quality and craftsmanship throughout the design and implementation process, ensuring that the final store experience meets or exceeds expectations.
Project Oversight: Manage high-profile design projects from inception to completion, ensuring timely delivery and alignment with strategic objectives.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in graphic design, advertising, fine arts, or related field and 8+ years designing for digital and physical experiences
2+ years of management experience.
Proven track record of creating successful omnichannel design systems.
Exceptional portfolio showcasing design process and strategic thinking.
Proficiency in industry-standard design tools and software including the Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office, Google Slides, and Figma.
Strong leadership – i.e. strong written/oral communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to inspire and motivate external artist partners and connect across Walmart Creative Studio.
Experience working in a fast-paced, high-stakes environment leading design work.
BONUSES: Working knowledge of HTML & CSS, After Effects, illustration skills, and experience with organic social, and in-house agency experience

The annual salary range for this position is $108,000.00-$216,000.00
Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.
