UCLA Health Project Manager in Los Angeles, California

Description

The Department of Medicine is seeking a Project Manager to oversee various tasks within the program. This role involves collaborating with a range of stakeholders, including community-based organizations, health centers, public health departments, coalitions, investigators, students, and community members to achieve program goals. Responsibilities include managing day-to-day activities, fostering community-academic partnerships, handling administrative tasks such as reporting and financial management, ensuring compliance with IRB protocols, managing websites and mailing lists, and providing support for funded projects. Additionally, in this role, you will be involved in developing training programs for community stakeholders, submitting applications for awards, and facilitating fiscal and research support. Tracking activities and generating reports for Principal Investigators (PIs) will also be part of the role. Furthermore, the Project Manager will establish contracts for program activities and develop infrastructure to aid community partners in establishing agreements with the university. Duties extend to overseeing program initiatives, drafting reports and project proposals, writing grants, compiling annual reports, supporting pilot projects, managing relationships with fellows and mentors, and collaborating with staff to create media content and presentations for provider trainings and community engagement workshops.

This a contract role which may convert to career.

Hourly rate: $26.48-$53.40Qualifications

Required:

  • At least 3-5 years of experience in public or community health research.

  • Expertise to compose progress reports to the funding agencies, correspondence to various people (including agencies, potential applicants, interests parties); and editing ability to review these reports, correspondences, and articles/chapters submitted for publication.

  • Interpersonal skills to interact effectively and diplomatically with faculty members from a variety of departments at UCLA, and researchers and staff at external organizations.

  • Exceptional ability to work independently, make decisions, and delegate work and oversee timely completion of projects with concurrent and conflicting deadlines. Flexibility and adaptability in dynamic environment based on changing priorities and frequent interruptions. Strong problem solving skills.

  • Proficient use of software Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, Access), Internet Browsers, as well as website development programs (WordPress, etc.).

  • Exceptional skills in problem solving to include gathering and analyzing information to determine best solutions to problems involving conduction research projects, evaluation and implementation of educational activities, and project management.

  • Expertise in the IRB, including preparation and submission of applications. Must be fluent in current policies relating to human subjects in research. Ability to maintain confidentiality with participant-related data and human resources information

  • Familiarity with organization of multi-center research studies

  • Incumbent will be expected to work occasional nights, weekends, and travel throughout LA county.

Preferred:

  • Masters, Ph.D, ScD, in Public Health or other related field preferred.
