UCLA Health Phlebotomy Skills Instructor in Los Angeles, California


The Department of Emergency Medicine is seeking a qualified Phlebotomy Skill Instructor to provide practical skills instruction under the direction of Program Director, Clinical Coordinators, and Principal Instructors for phlebotomy programs offered by the UCLA Center for Prehospital Care. The Skills Instructors main responsibilities include: Presenting full lectures to classrooms or mini-demonstrations on practical skills to a small group of students, instructing students on proper practical application of knowledge, equipment, and skills, perform fair, accurate, and consistent evaluation of students on practical skills and act as a student advocate in the learning process.

This is a 10%per diem position.

Salary range: $26.96-$57.90 HourlyQualifications


  • Current certification/licensure as EMT, ECT, WEMT or phlebotomist (dependent on instructional assignment).

  • 3 Years of experience working with phlebotomy.

  • Current State of California Instructor Certification.

  • Previous teaching experience at desired instructional level.

  • Current provider certification from the American Heart Association in BLS.

  • Ability to travel to off campus locations for contracted instructional assignments.

  • Excellent communication and instructional presentation skills.

  • Available to work evenings, holidays, and/or weekends.

  • Effectively teaches prehospital care procedures.

  • Detailed knowledge and skill in prehospital care procedures and techniques.
