In this role, you will assist the Senior Controller in coordinating client reporting, communicating with different internal and external collaborators, and preparing and reviewing template-based fund reporting.
Essential duties and responsibilities:
Produce, review, and verify financial information including investor funded and unfunded commitments, asset accrual methodology, and output, providing qualitative analysis and comments.
Prepare periodic financial statements and assists with audit and tax preparation and review.
Handle portfolio budgets, forecasts, and reports for clients/investors.
Monitor financial performance and provides strategic advice to the leadership team.
Assist with reviewing periodic P&L calculations at the fund and investor levels.
Handle and operates the treasury, cash management, and accounting functions.
Review system prepared reports and supporting schedules for accuracy.
Review and signs-off on fund level bank account reconciliations.
Assist with financial institutions, handling financing arrangements and execution of loan agreements.
Prepare, analyze, and review NAV calculations and financial packages for completion and accuracy.
Update and monitor daily trading, general ledger activity, and pricing of funds to ensure accuracy of daily NAV calculation.
May serve as contact point for investors.
Maintain shareholder registries and provides data for presentations.
May craft and prepare presentations on financials. Reviews/prepares performance models.
Troubleshoot sophisticated issues and ensure requests are handled timely and accurately.
No formal supervisory responsibilities in this position. May provide informal assistance such as technical support and/or portfolio specific training to others.
Job requirements
Bachelor/Master’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field required
5+ years of accounting experience or equivalent combination of education and experience required
Prior experience in fund level accounting preferred with real estate accounting or fund accounting software systems.
Proven technical financial skills and solid understanding of GAAP, FASB, REIS, IFRS, and in-region/in-country standards where applicable
Knowledge of real estate terms, definitions, and real estate analytical methodology.
Intermediate knowledge of computer software and hardware (i.e. Microsoft Office Suite Products).
Ability to work in multiple accounting software applications.
Strong coordinative skills and well-developed judgment
Hands-on, accurate, and proactive
Excellent verbal and written English interpersonal skills.
Ability to build strong working relationships with colleagues from different countries and cultures.
