As the Director of Development, reporting directly to the Chief Development Officer, you will spearhead the execution of a dynamic major gift development program tailored to the specific needs of the Ostrow School. This role is crucial in advancing our mission through strategic fundraising and donor engagement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Donor Engagement:Proactively identify, qualify, and cultivate relationships with major donors, alumni, and corporate partners. Your efforts will focus on securing major and planned gifts as well as foundation support.

  • Funding Prioritization:Collaborate with faculty and staff to pinpoint funding needs, crafting and executing strategies to engage potential funding sources efficiently and effectively.

  • Relationship Building:Facilitate connections between potential donors and faculty members, enhancing donor involvement and investment in our strategic priorities.

  • Prospect Development:Expand our donor base by actively engaging with alumni, board members, and corporate leaders through personal meetings, developing tailored fundraising strategies.

  • Proposal Management:Craft and present compelling proposals aligned with our school’s priorities, ensuring a consistent approach to major gifts fundraising.

  • Stewardship and Outreach:Regularly interact with donors through face-to-face visits, maintaining and strengthening ongoing relationships. Your role includes significant travel to engage with prospects and stakeholders directly.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Corporate and Foundation Relations:Design and implement solicitation strategies, collaborating across departments to develop impactful program descriptions and proposals. Foster enduring partnerships with key corporate and foundation figures.

  • Team Collaboration:As a vital member of the university advancement team, contribute to strategic planning, event coordination, and maintaining the highest standards of fundraising practices.

The Ideal Candidate:Possesses a strong background in development, marketing, or public relations, complemented by exemplary planning, organizational, and interpersonal skills.

The annual base salary range for this position is $95,821.88 - $135,000.00.
