Westside Advertising Firm seeking a Small Company Controller*

We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Controller in Los Angeles, California. This role involves managing the accounting and financial operations within our industry. The successful candidate will work closely with various teams, maintaining accounting records and producing regular financial reports. This position requires strict adherence to GAAP and client contract requirements.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee the production of weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports in compliance with GAAP

• Manage all accounting records, ensuring they accurately reflect the company's financial position

• Handle all accounting processes, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, cash management, and compliance

• Actively manage accounts receivable and support account staff in promptly invoicing and ensuring timely payments

• Monitor and proactively manage cash flow

• Identify and implement methods for cost-saving within the company

• Prepare and present internal analysis and reports such as bank reconciliations and monthly billability reports

• Ensure timely and accurate payment of payroll and all invoices

• Maintain the company's D& B rating

• Utilize accounting software systems and CRM to ensure efficient processes and accurate records

• Perform budgeting and forecasting duties, including month-end close and budget processes.

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a Controller role or similar position

• Experience with ADP - Financial Services

• Knowledge of CRM and Crystal Reports

• Strong understanding of accounting functions including Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)

• Familiarity with auditing processes

• Experience in managing budget processes, including budgeting and forecasting

• Proven track record in successful month-end close operations

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred

• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation is a plus

• Excellent communication and leadership skills

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities

• High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation.
