Netflix Contracts Specialist, Business & Legal Affairs - Live Experiences in Los Angeles, California

The Role

The Netflix Live Experiences Business & Legal Affairs Legal Team is seeking a talented and passionate Contracts Specialist to support our efforts in IP-based immersive experiences.

The Live Experiences team works globally across all regions, and is responsible for all ticketed in-person experiential activations based on Netflix films or titles, such as Stranger Things: The Experience, or the Bridgerton Queen’s Ball. In addition to touring experiences, the team is also developing Netflix House, a series of destinations that will house multiple different Netflix experiences, food & beverage, and retail. The first two of these Netflix Houses will be opened in late 2025. These live experiences allow our fans to actually enter the worlds of our content and play an integral role in our stories. Whether it’s journeying into the upside down and coming face to face with a demogorgon or celebrating the diamond of the season at the Bridgerton Ball, these experiences help us forge lasting connections with our fans and create highly shareable moments of truth in the real world.

​For the role of Contracts Specialist, you must have strong organizational skills and a high level of attention to detail. You must be a great verbal and written communicator, be able to juggle and prioritize multiple responsibilities at the same time, and be self-motivated, quick-thinking and adaptable to change. You must have the ability to work proactively, independently and reliably under tight timeframes in a fast-paced environment. You will help to support the Netflix Live Experiences team, which has a global scope. Additionally, you will work with counterparts in various other Legal functions within the company to ​extract and synthesize information necessary to guide the Live Experiences team as they develop their programs.

This role is based in Los Angeles and will report to the Director of Business & Legal Affairs for the Live Experiences team. The ideal candidate will be curious about IP-based consumer products and immersive experiences (a growing sector of the Netflix business), demonstrate great initiative and be excited and inspired by the Netflix culture (https://jobs.netflix.com/culture) .

Responsibilities

  • Prepare contract templates for various agreements (service/vendor agreements, statement of work, license agreement, schedules, authorization letters, etc.), in partnership with Live Experiences counsel.

  • Review and synthesize data points from Live Experiences agreements into the CPX tracking systems and database, and collaborating with Finance/Accounting as payment or reporting issues arise.

  • Using existing tools and services, oversee compliance checks and licensee vetting in partnership with the Global Compliance team.

  • Performing rights research and review of creative materials to identify clearance or talent issues.

  • Partnering with Operations and other Contracts Coordinators and Specialists to identify operational efficiencies or system improvements.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of relevant experience as a coordinator, contract specialists / manager, or paralegal, ideally in the areas of licensing, vendor agreements, and/or entertainment transactions.

  • ​Strong organizational skills and a high level of attention to detail, capability to multitask, prioritize, and meet deadlines effectively.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • The ability to work proactively, independently and reliably under tight timeframes in a fast-paced environment.

  • Demonstrated flexibility and initiative to tackle matters outside of expertise and solve problems in a business-friendly, solutions-oriented manner.

  • High degree of professional ethics and integrity.

  • Flexibility to work across various projects and cross functional teams.

  • Fluency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Slack, Airtable, DocuSign, Google Suite and similar programs.

Preferred

  • Experience in entertainment law, whether at a law firm or within a corporate legal department.

  • Experience in operational tooling and rights/contracts management systems.

    Our compensation structure consists solely of an annual salary; we do not have bonuses. You choose each year how much of your compensation you want in salary versus stock options. To determine your personal top of market compensation, we rely on market indicators and consider your specific job family, background, skills, and experience to determine your compensation in the market range. The range for this role is $70,000 - $350,000.
