Job Summary

The Community Relations and Social Media Specialist II is responsible for providing community relations and social media communications support to the Communications team to advance the goals of the Community Resource Centers (CRC). This position manages the CRC social media presence across multiple social media platforms, which includes developing content, securing imagery, and conducting research on best practices, identifying, vetting, evaluating, and securing approvals for sponsorships, and event planning and day-of event support at community events.

Duties

Develop and provide support for social media messaging/posts, campaigns, content calendars, and assets (basic graphics and photo editing) for CRC social media platforms.

Schedule social media posts and monitor and respond to stakeholder comments; ensure that member issues received through social media are routed to the correct department for resolution.

Analyze and report on social media metrics, including any member issues received through social media. Measure the success of every social media campaign.

Design and develop photo, video, and other digital assets for use on social media and other communications channels. Stay up to date with the latest social media best practices and technologies. Attend educational conferences.

Represent L.A. Care and CRCs at community events and other convening.

Manage CRC social media channels at in-person events and other convening.

Route sponsorships through the administrative review and approval process in accordance with policies and procedures.

Coordinate stakeholder involvement in sponsored activities and initiatives and other key projects and events.

Provide CRC event planning and day-of support.

Participate in CRC-related meetings with a variety of stakeholders.

Capture and report information related to CRC activities with stakeholders.

Support community relations activities that further the goals of the CRCs.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Associate's Degree

In lieu of degree, equivalent education and/or experience may be considered.

Education Preferred

Bachelor's Degree

Experience

Required:

At least 4 years of experience in a community relations and social media setting.

Experience with establishing and maintaining relationships with external organizations.

Preferred:

Experience in a health care setting such as Health Maintenance Organization (HMO)/health plan or other managed care setting preferred.

Experience with project management.

Skills

Required:

Exceptional writing skills to communicate effectively with a range of target audiences through a variety of platforms.

Strong interpersonal communication skills with the ability to work effectively with internal and external stakeholders at all levels.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, and photo editing software such as Canva and Photoshop.

Knowledge of health care industry trends and social media trends to inform communication strategies.

Excellent multitasking skills. Good time-management skills.

Critical thinker and problem-solving skills.

Team player.

Preferred:

"Bilingual in one of LA Care Health Plan’s threshold languages is highly desirable. English, Spanish, Chinese, Armenian, Arabic, Farsi, Khmer, Korean, Russian, Tagalog, Vietnamese".
