Robert Half Accounting Manager in Los Angeles, California

Description We are seeking an Accounting Manager to join our team in the non-profit industry, based in Los Angeles, California. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in managing financial activities, ensuring accuracy in reporting, and facilitating relationships with key stakeholders. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to our mission by overseeing various financial processes, from managing customer accounts to resolving inquiries.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee the production of monthly financial statements and grant reports, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.

• Monitor and approve entries into the general ledger system, maintaining and reconciling all subsidiary ledgers.

• Manage the process of recording and reporting restricted fund transactions.

• Oversee the preparation of weekly cash status and forecast reports as well as ensuring timely and accurate reconciliations of all bank and investment accounts.

• Collaborate with key government program representatives to facilitate rapid and positive responses to inquiries.

• Provide financial information as needed by the Development Department for grant applications and reporting.

• Handle vendor and agency inquiries regarding accounts as needed.

• Ensure compliance with program requirements in managing the government claim and reimbursement process.

• Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts and collaborate in developing new business processes and procedures.

• Verify inventory monthly service report data before use in accounting records, and ensure timely and accurate filing of all business tax and license applications. Requirements • Possess a minimum of 5 years of experience in an accounting or finance role, preferably within the non-profit sector

• Demonstrable skills in Financial Reporting, Month End Close, Financial Statement preparation, and General Ledger management

• Proficiency in Account Reconciliation processes

• Advanced knowledge and practical experience of Microsoft Excel

• Experience with accounting software Navision is highly desirable

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required; a Master's degree or CPA certification is a plus

• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail

• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities

• Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion

• Proven ethical standards and a strong sense of integrity
