    Position description

The incumbent will be an Administrator for the undergraduate academic programs behind both the Computational and Systems Biology as well as the Neuroscience Interdepartmental Programs (IDPs). The incumbent will teach classes within the Computational and Systems Biology IDP and the Neuroscience IDP. These are both cross-cutting programs with direct participation from faculty across multiple academic departments in the College and the David Geffen School of Medicine. As such, the incumbent will collaborate with faculty and staff in multiple departments on campus to further the missions of both IDPs. The incumbent will work with student services personnel (for admission, teaching, advising, etc.) in the Computational and Systems Biology as well as Neuroscience IDPs. The educational duties will involve teaching up to three courses for the Computational and Systems Biology IDP and Neuroscience IDP. The incumbent will also oversee a variety of educational activities, including coordinating curriculum development. The incumbent should bring a history of research publications sufficient to command the respect of the students.

Qualifications

Basic qualifications (required at time of application)

Qualifications include a Ph.D. in some field of neuroscience or computational biology, as well as experience teaching at the undergraduate level, including laboratory-based courses. Candidate should also have experience or capacity for organizing public programs and managing distributed interdisciplinary teams.
