Job Title: Math Teacher Qualifications: 1. A bachelor's degree with academic training or experience in a specific teaching field 2. Valid certification in a specific teaching field from the Ohio Department of Education or evidence that one may obtained 3. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable. Alternatives are not to exceed the above qualifications. While performing the duties of the job, the employee is occasionally exposed to office equipment chemicals. The noise level in the work environment is moderate to occasionally loud. Essential Functions: Domain A -- Organizes Content Knowledge for Student Learning 1. Is familiar with relevant aspects of students' background knowledge and experiences 2. Articulate clear learning goals for the lesson that is appropriate for the students 3. Demonstrates an understanding of the connections between the content that was learned previously, the current content and the content that remains to be learned in the future 4. Creates or selects teaching methods, learning activities and instructional materials or technological resources that are appropriate for the students and that are aligned with the goals of the lesson 5. Create or select evaluation strategies that are appropriate for the students and that are aligned with the goals of the lesson 6. Follow the approved course of study 7. Show evidence of daily lesson planning 8. Has supplies, materials and equipment ready for instruction Domain B -- Creates an Environment for Student Learning 1. Create a climate that promotes fairness 2. Establish and maintain rapport with students 3. Communicate challenging learning expectations to each student 4.
