Responsibilities and Qualifications

As such, be part of the New Era of Remington as our Design Drafter at the Remington Plant location in Lonoke. Using CAD software, prepare preliminary and refined models and drawings of machine parts, tolls, gages, products, assemblies, and other to support Engineering, Maintenance, and Manufacturing. Facilitate plant document maintenance and approvals in addition to drawings that may include, Process Records, Work Instructions, Purchasing Specifications, Bills of Materials, and Routings.

  • Prepare clear and accurate CAD drawings and models using SolidWorks from sketches, verbal or written instructions, sample parts and prototypes in a timely manner

  • Create and maintain hardcopy and electronic technical files, including drawings, specifications, master lists, assembly BOMs, and supplier drawings

  • Process Drawing Change Orders ("DCO") detailing drawing and model revisions, approvals, and distribution. Work with Engineers and Technicians to understand and accurately capture the design or change intent into the drawing.

  • Perform mathematical computations as necessary to establish unspecified angles and dimensions as needed to provide fully constrained models and drawings

  • Review for accuracy and detail, drawings prepared by other members of the drafting team

  • Create and maintain solid models used for computer-based machining and fabrication. This may include working with programmers or engineers to prepare ".step" or ".stl" files for use in CNC machining or 3D printing

  • Use AutoCad, AutoCad Raster, Mechanical, and other CAD programs as needed to maintain legacy drawings

  • Keep supervisor informed in a timely manner of all important matters which must be known to manage the drafting area successfully

  • Observe all department and Company safety and housekeeping rules

  • Perform other duties as the need is apparent or as assigned

Education and/or Experience

  • High School Diploma or GED

  • 2-year college or trade school certificate in drafting

  • Five (5) years minimum practical experience with SolidWorks

  • Working knowledge of AutoDesk Autocad, AutoCad Mechanical, and AutoCad Raster software

  • Proficiency with troubleshooting and maintaining basic drafting software, including software configuration, and equipment, including plotter routine maintenance and use.

  • Experience in ASME Y14.5, latest revision, Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing, strongly preferred

  • Proficiency with Dassault Systèmes PLM/PDM systems preferred.

Language Skills

  • Ability to read, work, and interpret instructions in English. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

Mathematical Skills

  • Familiarity with and ability to perform mathematical operations including algebra, trigonometry, and geometry.

Reasoning Ability

  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.

Other Skills and Abilities

  • Proficiency with troubleshooting and maintaining basic drafting software, including software configuration, and equipment, including plotter routine maintenance and use.

  • Familiarity and proficiency with Microsoft Office suite of applications, of the current revision level, is strongly preferred.
