Teammates can receive additional compensation in bonuses throughout the year based on the company's profitability. Basic Job Functions: Skyline Steel, LLC, a division of Nucor, the nation's largest recycler and largest manufacturer of steel and steel products, is seeking a qualified applicant for the position of Quality Technician. Job responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: • Performing and coordinating all UT/VT testing within the facility • Reporting on progress of work in process, rework/repair orders, and production problems • Preparing reports following UT/VT testing in accordance with order requirements • Performing audits • Utilize ERP system to assist with production reporting • Performing equipment calibrations • Work on shop floor to support operations as required • All other duties as instructed by direct supervisor. The Quality Technician will be an integral member of the Skyline team. A successful candidate must be able to work independently as well as in a group, and be willing and able to work off shifts (2nd or 3rd), not to exclude weekends and holidays as operating conditions require. To ensure the success of the Skyline team, safety must be at the forefront of each duty that is performed by each teammate. Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times. Minimum Requirements: • Knowledge of VT Inspection Practices • Knowledge of UT Inspection Practices • Knowledge of AWS welding codes • Minimum 5 years of experience in the steel industry Preferred Qualifications: • Ability to read blueprints • UT Level 2 Certification - Currently hold or willing to obtain • ERP System Experience • Bachelors or technical degree helpful but not required This is a safety sensitive position.
