Summary: Our Industrial Projects encompass everything from building foundations, structural steel, and all types of process and material moving equipment to intricate process piping, instrumentation & control systems. As a self-performing industrial general contractor, we excel at completing complex, multi-craft projects under challenging schedule constraints. The successful candidate for the Concrete and Structural Steel Project Engineer will have experience in construction, specifically concrete foundation and structural steel projects.
Salary Range: $45-$55 per hour (DOE), FLSA non-exempt (OT eligible).
Key Responsibilities:
The Concrete and Structural Steel Project engineer will learn, follow, and promote Company safety and quality protocols.
Maintain accurate quantity tracking data and cost control reporting.
Thoroughly review drawings, submittals, samples, and shop drawings to ensure compliance with the contract.
Assist with estimating, scheduling updates, and working with material handling systems and equipment.
Write and manage RFIs and change orders.
Plan and coordinate work to facilitate the work permit process.
Review construction procedures, provide technical support, and ensure compliance with the contract.
Relationships:
Maintain proactive and positive relationships within the crafts, including shop and field craft personnel.
Foster positive relationships with customer representatives, vendors, suppliers, subcontractors, safety, CAD/BIM, accounting, IT, and all project teams.
Experience / Qualifications:
Degree in Construction Management, Mechanical, Industrial, Civil Engineering, or equivalent job-related experience.
5+ years of Project Engineering experience.
Experience with civil, concrete foundation, and structural steel projects.
Scheduling experience and/or education.
Solid knowledge of Project Management, Construction Contracts, Quality Assurance/Quality Control, and Safety.
Proficient in reading drawings and isometrics.
Willingness to travel as required.
Necessary Skills:
Proficient in Microsoft Office & Bluebeam, with intermediate skills in Excel.
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Self-starter, motivated, and takes initiative.
Organized and productive with the ability to prioritize workload.
Comfortable in a fast-paced environment with multiple tasks and projects at hand.
Energetic and eager to tackle new projects and ideas.
Must have a valid driver's license.
