Lower Columbia College Food Service Worker Lead (Head Start, Part-time) in Longview, Washington

This position is categorized as an Food Service Worker Lead under State of Washington Class Specification. This position is a non-permanent classified position and is for 9 months out of the year working no more than 19 hours per week. This position will require in person work. Examples of Duties & Responsibilities

 

  • Serve USDA lunches and snacks for preschool children.
  • Maintain kitchen equipment, serving utensils, food preparation and storage areas in a safe and sanitary manner.
  • Post menus in kitchens.
  • Calculate accurate quantities of eating utensils and food service material for each classroom.
  • Select and organize correct table settings and food portions for each classroom.
  • Maintain and use inventory system.
  • Assist with transporting
  • Understand the needs of children and parents, incorporating them into the food program.
  • Participate as an active member of the Food Services Team.
  • Work in a professional manner.
  • Respect the confidentiality of information as defined in the Confidentiality Policy.
  • Exhibit independent work skills, leadership, and flexibility.
  • Train aides, subs, and volunteers in accordance with program philosophy and policies.
  • Exhibit intent to increase knowledge, skill, and personal growth.
  • Attend and contribute to staff meetings and Food Service Team meetings.
  • In consultation with supervisor, develop professional work goals and training plan.
  • Participate in training as requested.
  • Performs Other duties as assigned

  • Frequently extended periods of standing
  • Frequently -- pushing food carts
  • Frequently -- use lift gate to transfer food service items from truck to kitchen
  • Frequently - bend over to pick up items
  • Frequently - stacking food service items
  • Frequently - lift heavy boxes of bulk food and supplies up to 40lbs.
