Mechanical Engineers in the TXO Engineering & Services Department perform work in one or several of a wide variety of specific areas including:

  • Perform mechanical discipline engineering on capital projects and engineered work orders

  • Complete engineering studies to improve efficiency or reliability of plant facilities or operations

  • Provide technical support to operating and maintenance departments to support on-going plant operations

  • Lead project teams to complete large studies, troubleshoot complex problems or execute large complex repair projects

  • Perform reliability studies on specific plant equipment or larger systems to identify and recommend projects to improve reliability and reduce conversion costs

  • Individuals in this role utilize a broad range of mechanical engineering skills and project management skills. Engineers in this role work closely with others in Engineering, Maintenance, Construction, Research & Development, and Operations to assist in achieving manufacturing, reliability, maintenance, and construction objectives.

Responsibilities:

Depending on Specific Assignment, Job Responsibilities may include:

  • Provide discipline engineering for capital projects or engineered work orders

  • Complete engineering studies to improve reliability of plant facilities or operations

  • Provide specific technical expertise to develop or maintain engineering standards

  • Provide reliability and maintenance input to capital project design

  • Provide technical support to operating and maintenance departments to support on-going plant operations

  • Collect and analyze data to identify projects to improve plant reliability and reduce conversion cost

  • Lead project teams to complete studies, troubleshoot complex problems or execute large complex repair projects

  • Perform reliability studies on specific plant equipment or larger systems to identify and recommend projects to improve

  • reliability and reduce conversion costs

  • Assist in the installation, check out, and start-up of new or modified processes and equipment

  • Develop and champion the implementation of new technology

Qualifications:

  • Strong mechanical engineering expertise

  • Broad range of mechanical engineering knowledge

  • Strong commitment to personnel and process safety

    Education:

  • Bachelor (BS) or Master's (MS) degree in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET accredited university is required

  • This position is for an entry-level mechanical engineer. Less than 2 years of post-graduate experience is preferred
