The Texas Workforce Commission (TWC), a Family Friendly Certified Workplace, is seeking a Caseload Coverage Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor (CCVRC) II-Sr CCVRC to join the Vocational Rehabilitation Department located at 2124 Alpine, Longview, Texas.\ \

\ \

The CCVRC II-Sr is a regional position that covers vacant caseloads and performs routine to advanced voc rehab work in support of the mission/goals/values of TWC. CCVRC II-Sr applies critical thinking skills/sound decision making in performance of routine rehab work in the Vocational Rehabilitation (VR) program. This program assists eligible individuals with disabilities to prepare for/retain/obtain and/or advance in competitive/integrated employment and includes assisting students with disabilities to transition successfully from high school to postsecondary education/employment.\ \

\ \

The ideal candidate will perform work using the applicable policy/guidance/electronic case management system. The CCVRC II-Sr is hired by the Deputy Regional Director or Program Support Manager with the approval of the Regional Director or Deputy Regional Director, and works independently, with moderate to minimal supervision.\ \

\ \

GENERAL DUTIES:\ \ -Assists eligible individuals with disabilities to prepare for/retain/obtain and/or advance in competitive/integrated employment, includes assisting students with disabilities to transition successfully from high school to postsecondary education/employment\ \ -Develops/maintains relations with community referral sources/businesses/employers/schools\ \ -Collects/analyzes all information necessary to make an accurate eligibility decision (e.g. medical/psychological/school records/employment records/etc)\ \ -Assists the customer in choosing appropriate employment by analyzing information to determine the customerandrsquo;s strengths/resources/priorities/concerns/abilities/capabilities/interests, and matching that information to the current job market\ \ -Works with the customer to develop a plan of services des gned to achieve the customerandrsquo;s identified employment goals\ \ -Ensures timely/cost-effective provision of services and customer progress toward achievement of their employment goal\ \ -Develops/implements a process leading to successful job placement\ \ -Applies best value purchasing practices and uses available/comparable benefits/services to ensure effective use of public funds\ \ -Performs other duties as assigned\ \

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:\ \ Masterandrsquo;s degree with major in Rehab Counseling/Clinical Rehab Counseling from an accredited college/university\ \ OR masterandrsquo;s degree with major in counseling/related degrees such as Special Education/Social Work/Psychology/Human Services from an accredited college/university plus 1 year related work experience\ \ OR Masterandrsquo;s degree with any other major plus 2 years related work experience\ \ OR Bachelorandrsquo;s degree with a major in voc rehab from an accredited college/university plus 1 year related work experience\ \ OR Bachelorandrsquo;s degree with major in Counseling/Education/Social Work/Sociology/Psychology/Public Health from an accredited college/university plus 2 years related work experience\ \ OR Bachelorandrsquo;s degree with any other major plus 3 years related work experience\ \

\ \

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:\ \ Depending on required qualifications/experience, a Voc Rehab Counselor (VRC) vacancy may be filled at any level from a VRC II-Sr VRC. Factors such as education/credentials/experience will be considered when establishing the hiring level/starting salary. Hiring managers will use the following Minimum Qualifications Guidelines to determine the hiring level.\ \ No experience required to meet minimum qualifications if candidate meets Comprehensive System of Personnel Development (CSPD).

\ \

- VRC II: Graduation from an accredited 4-year college/university with major coursework in social work/rehab, or a related field plus 1 year of experience in voc rehab services.\ \ - VRC III: Graduation from an accredited 4-year college/university with major coursework in social work/rehab, or a related field plus 3 years of experience in voc rehab services.\ \ - VRC IV: Graduation from an accredited 4-year college/university with major coursework in social work/rehab, or a related field plus 5 years of experience in voc rehab services, plus meet the CSPD educational requirements.\ \ - Sr VRC: Graduation from an accredited 4-year college/university with major coursework in social work/rehab, or a related field plus 6 years of experience in voc rehab services, plus meet the CSPD educational requirements.\ \

Copy of official transcripts/certifications and/or credentials will be requested at the time of interview.

This position involves up to 75% travel, and method of transportation is the responsibility of employee. Counselors are required to travel to reach their assigned consumers on a regular basis. Thus, travel is required for this position.\ \
