Danfoss Editron in Longmont, CO is searching for a Manufacturing Engineer to join their global Manufacturing Excellence team. Danfoss Editron is leading the electrification revolution. Job Responsibilities
Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to, the following. Extensive work with the design engineering to apply DFA/DFM concepts for reduced cost and highest quality and participate in the DFMEA process. Stay abreast of latest winding, assembly and test equipment processes and technology. Identify and manage outside resources for new equipment by creating clear and thorough SOWs constant support to meeting cost and timing goals. Use of lean manufacturing concepts to continuously optimize manufacturing processes for improved production flow, reduce costs, improve quality, and expanded capacity. Provide CAPEX estimates and justifications for manual vs. automatic equipment selections and timing. Provide production floor layouts using AutoCAD or other programs and identify utility requirements for the new equipment. Deliver required manufacturing process flow charts, PFMEAs, control plans and detailed work instructions for new products/processes. Implement systems to maintain traceability and error proofing of the product. Work with current manufacturing teams for a smooth implementation of this new equipment in our global manufacturing locations Design fixtures and tooling for manufacturing processes Establish packaging requirements for incoming and outgoing material.
Background & Skills
Bachelor's degree in mechanical,Industrial, Electrical, or similar engineering degree is required. 3 years' experience in motor manufacturing is preferred. Experience with large electric motors and high voltage electrical test equipment preferred. Six sigma lean manufacturing training and experience. Experience with the PPAP process for launches with new products and customers. Analytical problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex problems and determine root causes. Use of AutoCAD and NX or other CAD programs for layout and fixture designs. Strong interpersonal skills capable of working among many disciplines and customers. Excellent organizational skills and the ability to maintain project plans.
Compensation Data
HIRING SALARY RANGE: $80,000-$90,000/year. Base salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.
