Gersh Autism Speech Language Pathologist-3,500 Sign-on Bonus in Long Island City, New York

Academy for Young Minds (AYM) is seeking an experienced Speech Therapist to join our team and work in one of our brand new, state-of- the-art classrooms in Long Island City, NY.

Job Responsibilitties:

  • Provide appropriate and individualized therapy and interventions to students

  • Collect data on student’s progress

  • Assess students’ progress to inform continued instruction

  • Support team with the development of social and language skills of their students

  • Participate in team meetings and professional development activities

  • Use Central Reach parent portal

  • Demonstrate professionalism in classroom while adhering to the mission, vision and philosophy of AYM.

  • Prep and clean up therapy space each day

Requirements

  • NYS License as Speech and Language Pathologist

  • NYS TSHH or TSLD Certification

  • Understanding of the needs of students with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) and/or other developmental disabilities

  • PROMPT trained

  • Knowledge of NYS Common Core Standards and RTI

  • Excellent verbal and written communication, and interpersonal skills

  • Excellent organizational and problem solving skills

  • Computer proficiency (e.g., data base, word processing, etc.)
