Position Summary
The Director, Data Centers and Facilities Lead is responsible for the strategic planning, operational excellence, and overall management of data center facilities.
This role involves ensuring the seamless operation, maintenance, and security of the physical infrastructure, while driving initiatives for energy efficiency and sustainability. The Director will lead a team of facility staff, manage vendor relationships, and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
The position demands a strategic thinker with strong technical expertise, leadership skills, and a commitment to continuous improvement. as well as the maintenance of standards, guidelines, and design of data facilities with global / regional partners.
The Data Center team designs some of the most sophisticated electrical engineering, mechanical engineering and HVAC systems in the world. Facilities Technicians at our enterprise, monitor and support physical facilities conditions. Some of these duties will include heating and cooling of air and water, power supply, generators, UPS systems, electrical distribution and control and monitoring systems. You regularly help inspect, maintain and repair various data center systems such as piping and non-critical electrical or mechanical system components). You provide daily assistance to senior technicians as you read blueprints/schematics, conduct tours of systems and assess their working order.
As a master of best-in-class practices, you develop creative approaches to reducing operational costs while improving overall data center efficiency. You ensure that environmental and safety standards are consistently met, identifying problems and making repairs quickly In emergency situations or abnormal conditions, you manage data center performance issues and outages to minimize the recovery time from failures.
As Director, Data Center & Facilities Lead, you will be responsible for leading multiple teams throughout our 200 offices globally. You'll be responsible for working towards SLAs with internal teams on uptime, efficiencies and cost. You will grow the team to meet the needs of the business and leverage technical talent across the enterprise and identify needs for regional data centers.

Key Roles & Responsibilities
Plan and execute campus operational budgets, expense forecasting and manage established budgets.
Set strategy and plan deployments across multiple sites.
Lead efforts to integrate company-wide strategy and execution with internal and external business partners.
Create strategy for cost effective operations, focused on total cost of ownership.
Demonstrate critical thinking and innovation in approaching traditional data center and emergent challenges.
Operations Management:
Oversee the daily operations of data center facilities.
Ensure that all systems and processes run smoothly, with minimal downtime.
Implement and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Facility Management:
Manage the physical infrastructure of the data center, including HVAC, power, cooling, and security systems.
Ensure the facility meets industry standards and complies with regulatory requirements.
Coordinate with facility management teams for regular maintenance and emergency repairs.
Infrastructure Planning and Deployment:
Plan and implement data center expansions or modifications.
Oversee the installation and configuration of new equipment and technologies.
Ensure that infrastructure is scalable and can support future growth.
Security Management:
Implement and manage physical security measures, including access control, surveillance, and alarm systems.
Develop and enforce security policies and procedures.
Conduct regular security audits and risk assessments.
Energy Efficiency and Sustainability:
Monitor and optimize energy consumption to improve efficiency.
Implement sustainable practices to reduce the environmental impact of the data center.
Evaluate and adopt new technologies for energy management.
Vendor and Contract Management:
Manage relationships with vendors, contractors, and service providers.
Negotiate contracts and ensure that service level agreements (SLAs) are met.
Oversee vendor performance and ensure quality of services.
Budgeting and Cost Management:
Develop and manage the data center's budget.
Track and control operational expenses.
Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising on quality or performance.
Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity:
Develop and maintain disaster recovery and business continuity plans.
Ensure that backup systems and protocols are in place and tested regularly.
Coordinate recovery efforts in the event of a data center outage or disaster.
Compliance and Standards:
Ensure that the data center complies with relevant regulations and industry standards (e.g., ISO, PCI-DSS, HIPAA).
Stay updated with changes in regulations and industry best practices.
Implement necessary changes to maintain compliance.
Performance Monitoring and Reporting:
Monitor the performance of data center systems and facilities.
Use metrics and KPIs to assess efficiency, reliability, and overall performance.
Prepare regular reports for senior management and stakeholders
Qualifications
University Degree or equivalent experience
8 years of relevant experience
The anticipated base salary range for this position is $137,000 to $228,000. Exact salary depends on several factors such as experience, skills, education, and budget. Salary range may vary based on geographic location. In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for participation in a highly competitive bonus program with possibility for overachievement based on performance and company results as well as participation in the share incentive plan.
