Interested in growing with a thriving construction company as an Accounts Receivable (A/R) professional? This permanent opportunity for an Accounts Receivable Clerk is in the Long Island City, New York area. This role's duties will require entering, posting and reconciling batches, researching and resolving customer A/R issues, preparing aging reports, placing billing and collection calls, maintaining cash receipts journal, and updating and reconciling sub-ledger to G/L.

Responsibilities

• Support, relate, and strengthen the mission, values and culture of the organization

• Post and balance financial information in a number of ledgers while reconciling bank accounts

• Provide information as requested to shippers, customers, the sales/marketing department and other stake holders

• Verify documents and codes

• Contact clients to settle payment issues and establish payment plans as required

• Follow standard procedures to execute general accounting tasks

• Process payments and assemble segments of monthly closings and annual reports in compliance with GAAP

Requirements

• AA or BS/BA degree in Accounting or related field

• Established analytical skills in basic accounts receivable and accounting policy

• Attention to detail and ability to follow standard procedures is a requirement

• 3+ years of relevant experience in accounts receivable in the construction industry

• Solid understanding of Construction Accounting

• ERP system experience
