Eaton Corporation Hardware Design Engineer in Long Branch, New Jersey

Eaton’s ES EMEA CS LS division is currently seeking a Hardware Design Engineer.

The expected annual salary range for this role is $75037.5 - $110055.0 a year.

What you’ll do:

The electrical/electronics engineer will be responsible for the design, development, test, and technical documentation of hardware designs within the Life Safety organization. The engineer will be responsible for collaborating with other engineers to ensure alignment with our design methodology and best practices.

Technical expertise:

• Collaborate closely with the various engineering groups within our Eaton engineering pool emphasizing design reuse and fast project execution.

• Collaborate closely with the firmware and Mechanical engineering team members to ensure alignment.

• Follow best practices for requirements and data management, schematics, layout, design for manufacturing, design for test, design for modularity, testing including test automation, and regulatory standards.

• Create and maintain comprehensive documentation that utilizes digital tools such as Jira, Jama, Confluence, …

• Discuss and explore different alternatives for solving complex technical challenges.

Electronics Verification and Testing:

• Develop and implement hardware test strategies, plans, and procedures.

• Support hardware verification activities, including specification reviews, design reviews, schematics/layout reviews, integration tests, environmental testing, ad hoc debugging, and HW/FW interface debugging.

• Work with test engineer in writing and executing HW tests while ensuring alignment with project goals and quality standards.

• Observe existing processes and making recommendations for improvement.

Qualifications:

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or similar engineering degree.

  • Minimum of 3 years in electronics design experience.

  • Must be legally eligible to work in the US without sponsorship now and in the future.

  • No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates residing in a 50-mile radius of Long Branch, NJ will be considered. Active-duty military members are exempt from this geographical limitation.

Skills:

  • Good problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.

  • Familiarity with fire alarm systems, emergency communication devices, and related protocols is a plus.

  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.

  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
