Job Overview:
Performs diagnostic computed tomography procedures within the scope defined by Regulatory and Departmental QC standards. Is responsible for reporting identified safety issues such as hazardous environments (i.e. damaged floors/walls/ceiling tiles/unsecured areas) and medical errors, etc.
Qualifications:
Required:
Graduate of an approved school of Radiologic Technology
NJ Radiology license
ARRT Certification
BLS through the American Heart Association
Scheduling Requirements:
Evening shift hours
40 hours per week
Essential Functions:
Performs computed axial tomography procedures working with patients ranging in age from neo-natal to geriatric
Identifies problems and communicates to immediate supervisor/charge staff; offers solutions as appropriate
Provides radiation protection to patient, staff and self according to prescribed safety standards
Performs venipuncture and administers IV contrast according to protocol
Describes nature and time requirements of requested examination to patient, at an age-appropriate level,
Reviews images for proper positioning, technique, identification
Performs venipuncture and administers IV contrast according to protocol
Understands and utilizes aseptic technique and universal precautions
