P2S Senior Staff Accountant in Long Beach, California

Hybrid Schedule: 3 days In-office / 2 Remote
Salary: $80,000 - $95,000
Level: Senior
Duties And Responsibilities
Perform financial analysis, identify trends and variances
Review and provide an in-depth analysis on project revenues, costs, budget, and variances
Conduct monthly financial reviews with management
Responsible for month-end financial close process
Reconcile General Ledger (GL) accounts
Process/review various journal entries, including deferred rent, depreciation/amortization, accruals, and etc.
Compile consolidated financial statements, including balance sheet, income statement, equity statement, and cash flow statement
Assist in various audits including financial, overhead, and project audits
Compile financial reports and ad hoc reports as needed
Improve and enhance processes and internal controls
Reviews and verifies invoices are matched with applicable PO’s.
Confirms check requests, invoices, expensereimbursement, and sub-consultant invoices have proper authorization for
Sorts codes, entersvouchers into the system
Reconciles accounts payable transactions, prepares analysis of accountsat the Group level and ensures vendor records are properly kept
Research and recommend programs, policies, and procedures to improve the effectiveness andefficiency of the accounts payable
Prepares checks, including releasing ACH transactions and web payments,and backup documentation in Salesforce.
Qualifications
Minimum Bachelors degree in Finance or Accounting; required
Minimum 5 years of accounting experience in public and/or private industry; required
Experience in both GL and project accounting; required
A&E industry experience is required
Audit experience is preferred but not required
Strong knowledge of General Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
Deep familiarity with accounting process and procedures, and internal controls
Experience with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) overhead (preferred but not required)
CPA is a plus
All new hires will be required to successfully complete and pass a pre-employment (post offer) background check in compliance with NIST 800-171
