Robert Half Litigation Paralegal with Real Estate Company in Long Beach, California

Description

An established real estate company in Long Beach seeks a litigation paralegal to work with their in-house legal department. This company has over 10,000 properties throughout Southern California.

They are seeking a litigation paralegal who can handle landlord tenant related cases.

Responsibilities:

  • legal research

  • calendaring court deadlines

  • gathering evidence and documents from clients

  • drafting preliminary motions, pleadings, and briefs

  • managing the discovery process

  • assisting with trial preparation (exhibits, depo transcripts, and PowerPoint slides)

Experience with real estate law, landlord tenant, or unlawful detainer matters is highly preferred.

Perks of Company:

  • In-house litigation - more work/life balance than a law firm – “litigating without the rat race”

  • Autonomy. If you know how to run a case, you will be left alone to run it.

  • Great tenure: long term employees, and even second-generation employees!

  • Family-owned company, and “we try to treat our people as family too!”

  • “We are making decisions for the long haul (30-40 years down the line, how will this affect us?) and are not short-sighted in our business practices.”

  • “We try to be open-minded group of folks.”

Compensation:

· Salary: Around $85-100K, but potentially flexible for the right person

· Bonus: Discretionary annual

· Benefits:

  • Healthcare: yes

  • 401K: match

  • PTO: yes

    Requirements

  • Solid understanding of CA civil codes and procedures (discovery, court deadlines, etc.)

  • 3+ years of litigation experience in CA

  • Knowledge of landlord tenant, unlawful detainer, or real estate law

  • Ability to commute to Long Beach most days (a day remote is given after the onboarding period)
