Charles Schwab Manager –Software Development and Engineering in Lone Tree, Colorado

Duties : Evaluates complex user requests, projects, and clarifies objectives and functional requirements for new or modified computer programs. Improves/sustains embedded system software using specialized domain knowledge and developed business expertise. Conducts and prepares feasibility studies for new applications and/or existing ones and makes decisions within general parameters under little supervision. Ensures implementations meet the solution architecture and design. Contributes to the design, development, testing, deployment, and support of critical, high-volume Data ETL systems via Batch Data Processing applications. Analyzes legacy Informatica system designs to decompose the functionality into incremental deliverable milestones on the modern Cloud architecture. Coordinates across multiple functional areas to deliver a solution that meets all applicable standards. Provides technical leadership and mentoring of junior members of the engineering team, including performing code reviews and providing feedback of code written in Java (with Object Oriented design patterns), SQL and Python scripting. Works collaboratively with other engineers, product owners, and end users to solve development problems. Supports solutions throughout all phases of the software development lifecycle.

Position allows for partial remote work (2-3 times in the office). Must live within reasonable commuting distance. Reports to company office in Lone Tree, CO.

Starting compensation for this location depends on related experience. Annual bonus opportunity and other eligible earnings are not included in the range(s) above. We offer a competitive benefits package, see below for details.

Salary: $176,800 to $214,700 per year

What you have

Job Requirements : Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field, plus 4 years of related experience.

Experience must include some experience in each of the following skills: Data ETL (Extract/Transform/Load) systems that extract data from various sources, transform that data using business rules, and load the data to an output file or database; Batch Data Processing systems that are driven by a scheduled process rather than a User Interface; Informatica tool to implement complicated workflows and mappings; Google Cloud Data Tools (BigQuery, Data Flow, and Composer); SQL relational databases such as Oracle or SQL Server databases containing millions of records; Java with Object-Oriented design patterns (Factory, Singleton, and Command patterns); and Functional (non-OO) languages such as Python scripting to define workflow configurations.

CO Salary Range: USD $176,800 - $214,700 / Year
