How does this role contribute to our collective success?
This role contributes to AXIS’ collective success through maintaining and promoting a market leading claims service to support clients’ complex risks and challenges and in so doing to support the retention and acquisition of business.
What will you do in this role?
Handle financial lines claims (FI, W&I and D&O) for a wide variety of financial institution, professional and commercial clients written in the Global Markets Professional Lines Division and reporting to the Financial Lines Claims Manager.
Handle complex financial lines claims in a lead capacity from first advice to final settlement including full analysis of coverage/liability, reserve evaluations and resolution strategy.
The portfolio of claims will include claims arising in international jurisdictions (inc US) and will be a mixture of lead and follow, primary and excess and company and syndicate claims.
Work closely with claims management, external legal advisors, market leaders and brokers to ensure that the highest standard of technical claims handling and customer service is provided.
Liaise with underwriters on wording/policy issues, the provision of claims information and to attend client meetings as appropriate.
Liaise with other internal stakeholders (actuarial, finance, reinsurance) as appropriate.
You may also be required to take on additional duties, responsibilities and activities appropriate to the nature of this role.
About You:

What you need to have:
Experience in dealing with financial lines claims in either a claims lead or legal advisory capacity.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to articulately present in meetings.
Ability to develop and sustain relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Ability to prioritise and organise workload.
Ability to exercise sound judgment.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, to liaise with numerous customers, both internal and external.
What we prefer you to have:
Ideally will have worked in a syndicate or company and gained sufficient experience in the market place to independently perform the above duties and responsibilities.
Financial lines insurance lawyers interested in moving across to complex claims handling are also encouraged to apply.
Knowledge of ECF2.
Experience with Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
Legal or professional qualification such as ACII.
Role Factors:
In this role, you will typically be required to be in the office 2 to 3 days per week.
