Responsibilities

Responsible for coordinating and planning the daily operations of the Peer Review program. Supports Medical Staff peer review committee functions and the flow of information to Medical Staff groups and hospital departments. Develops positive working relationships with the medical staff through responsiveness and delivery of accurate, timely and effective work products. Assist with and support Medical Staff education regarding peer review and regulatory requirements. Remains current and ensures compliance with Peer review state statutes, federal requirements, Medical Staff Bylaws, R&R's, TJC and policies. Ability to understand and apply information, policies, procedures and skills required by the position. Collaborates effectively, efficiently, and appropriately with Medical Staff Leadership and members. Coordinates outside physician reviews when requested. Oversees development of practitioner performance information database and systems and coordination of information flow with other departments/Medical Staff/AHPs. Formulates all peer review committee meeting agendas, case packets and captures meeting minutes. Investigates issues of concern in cooperation with applicable individuals and/or Departments. Escalates issues that do not conform to established expectations to Director. Collaborates with applicable individuals in quality management as applicable. Assurance that OPPE data is timely, complete and meets specifications for indicators selected by each specialty. Facilitates evaluation of OPPE data by division chiefs/chair to promote the identification of professional practice trends that impact quality of care and patient safety. Monitors practitioner status relative to completion of FPPE requirements. Facilitates collection, review and evaluation of documentation related to FPPE observations and timely communication of results. Other duties as assigned by Market Director.

Qualifications

Required Education:

Bachelors of Nursing (BSN) preferred or Bachelor’s Degree in Business or related field. Master’s Degree in a health-related business focus from an accredited school preferred.

Required Licensure and Certifications:

If BSN, must have current Registered Nurse license in Kentucky. Obtain CPHQ certification upon eligibility or within the first 2 years of employment.

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Peer Review experience with data analysis, aggregation, display, trend and pattern analysis and presentation desired.

Must be a mid to expert level practitioner with Microsoft Office products, able to work with computer databases using a web-based format.

PREFERRED Qualifications:

Past experience in health care and peer review is preferred. This position requires leadership competencies to include: Demonstration of the SJHS Core Values; Critical Thinking Skills; knowledgeable about health care databases, proficient in the use of menu driven software applications, word processing and spreadsheet applications, demonstration of an ability to team with others and work effectively and collaboratively within a team environment; leads by example, excellent communication and facilitation skills; an ability to respond to rapidly changing situations.

Pay Range

$23.98 - $34.78 /hour
