Preqin is looking for a VP, Senior Analyst, in its Research Insights team. The role holder will be responsible for developing and communicating data-driven commentary focused on hedge funds and our popular annual forecast series. This role will also manage 1-2 members of our talented global team of industry and asset-class experts that produce widely read and referenced institutional research reports as part of our growing subscription research offering.
This individual will be a key industry-facing representative and responsible for articulating and delivering our view on hedge funds and the broader alternatives industry at events and through press interviews and written commentary in support of our research offering. The ideal candidate possesses strong communication skills and a proven record of engaging effectively with the industry, media and clients.

In this role you will:
Analyze our data using statistical and quantitative tools and write innovative, practitioner-focused research to help our clients better anticipate industry trends and positively impact their investment or allocation decisions.
Partner with Preqin’s data science team to build models that help us forecast the growth of our industry.
Build and manage a small team of industry experts.
Communicate Preqin’s view on hedge funds to national and global media outlets.
Present Preqin’s data-driven perspective to our current and prospective clients to highlight the value of our data and insights.
Support the wider Research Insights team by reviewing and commenting on others’ work, ensuring rigorous analytical and written quality.
You are a good fit if you:
Have a degree in Finance, Economics, Statistics, Applied Mathematics or similar quantitative field.
Possess substantial research experience, preferably with direct engagement with the industry via client or industry presentations and published research.
Are skilled at using quantitative tools, such as Python, to build models and analyze data.
Have experience working at a hedge fund or at a business either allocating to or with a strong focus on supporting hedge funds.
Demonstrate effective written and verbal presentation skills. Candidates will be required to share samples of past written work and demonstrate their expertise through a written research exercise as part of the interview process.
Capable of managing multiple and varied projects that require internal collaboration across our Research Insights, Data Science, Editorial and Press teams.
Preferably have industry-focused qualifications, such as CFA or CAIA.
Willing to travel regionally or internationally about 5% of the time.

A pension plan under auto-enrolment which currently requires a minimum employee contribution of 5% of annual salary. This is matched by an employer contribution of 4%. This means that if you are contributing the minimum contribution of 5%, after your 1-year service, Preqin will automatically uplift the company contribution to 5% of annual salary.
