Amazon Transfer Pricing Manager, Tax in London, United Kingdom

Amazon is seeking an experienced Transfer Pricing Manager to join our EMEA transfer pricing team in either London or Luxembourg. The role is focused on supporting Amazon's related party transactions for its core Stores businesses within EMEA. This is a mixed role covering planning, monitoring, documentation and defence of Amazon's TP policies.

The candidate should have significant transfer pricing experience and be comfortable directly liaising with various business teams and other members of the global tax function.

This position is office-based, with the flexibility to work remotely up to two days per week in line with Amazon’s current flexible work guidance. Amazon encourages open communication about unique needs for flexible arrangements'

Key job responsibilities

End to end development, implementation and monitoring of transfer pricing policies, including

  • Planning - business partnering, supporting business launches and restructurings, developing new TP policies, financial modelling and business / asset valuations

  • Implementation and controllership - supporting the implementation of new TP policies, preparation and review of inter-company agreements, monitoring TP outcomes compared to policy

  • Compliance - contributing to and reviewing TP documentation, benchmarking and other regulatory filings

  • Defence - supporting transfer pricing audits, preparing APA submissions and managing responses.

The role also involves providing ad hoc support to stakeholders engaged in planning, controversy and compliance related activities, contributing to the development of process improvement initiatives and managing and working with outside advisors.

About the team

Amazon's transfer pricing group is an integral part of the global tax function, working closely with business and other tax stakeholders. The EMEA transfer pricing team is primarily located in the UK and Luxembourg.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Finance, Accounting or other relevant professional qualification

  • Extensive tax / transfer pricing experience, ideally 7 years- Experience working in a large public accounting firm or multi-national tax department.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with analysing and implementing international transfer pricing regulations.

  • Strong understanding of accounting concepts and tax law

  • Ability to work in a dynamic, fast paced, informal, often ambiguous and rapidly changing business environment

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Excellent analytical, technical, and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to extract, analyze, and review data and make appropriate recommendations

  • Detail-oriented individual who is self-motivated and takes ownership of projects

  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and partner well with people at all levels within an organization
