We are looking for a Test Automation Architect within the Central Automation team.
The successful candidate will support all business units within The Economist in setting up, approving and monitoring:
test engineering practices
test engineering principles
testing standards
You’ll be supported by a friendly and inclusive team who have the autonomy to define and improve processes and care deeply about developing each other's capabilities.
Accountabilities
How you will contribute
You will work closely with the Head of Quality Engineering to ensure Test Automation Strategy is followed
You will coach teams in test automation best practices & principles
You will apply and uphold industry standards for testing tools & techniques and advise on their application
You will help to define ways to improve test engineering processes that will continue to embrace our shift left approach across The Economist
You will hold regular brown bag sessions
Experience, skills and professional attributes
The ideal skills for this role include
You have significant experience in creating test automation frameworks for all types of testing
You have significant experience in test automation design to support ease of use, ease of maintenance and scalability
You have significant experience in integrating reporting engines with test automation frameworks
You have significant programming experience in a variety of languages
You have significant experience in implementing mocking tools
You have significant experience in using distributed version control systems
You have significant experience in using continuous integration
You have significant experience in coaching/mentoring colleagues in test automation
You are a solid communicator
