JOB PURPOSE
To work in the CBRE Central Technical / Centre Of Excellence (COE) Data Centre Team as an expert adviser in providing technical solutions, and guidance on all mechanical, electrical, energy efficiencies, within the design, planning, installation, testing, commissioning and operational for Data Centre Operations to maintain 100% uptime and achieve account plan ensuring all critical services meet CLIENT SLA.
Key Accountabilities
Centre of competence in all aspects of data centre operations & installation standards
Single point of contact (COE for CBRE) for all Technical activities as the primary interface to the CBRE / CLIENT Account Teams
To provide 24/7 Technical Support to clients
Provide technical guidance & support to Data Centre Maintenance & Operation, Testing and Commissioning
Deliver innovative technical solutions to maintain long term profitable based on selling this unique expertise to the CLIENT Client and potentially other Critical Environment and Data Centres accounts
To ensure all critical services PEOPLE PLANT & PROCESS & VENDORS are developed in a consistent approach for all locations and regions
Accountability for Services Solutions for upgrades and new requirements
To provide assurance through expert reviews to ensure compliance to CBRE safe system of work & provide a safe working environment.
Improve the maintenance and operations techniques to reduce invasive operations and maintenance whilst ensuring reduced business risk to CBRE
Review plant and system performance, highlighting solutions & progressing Continuous Improvement and appropriate benchmarking programmes
Provide emergency support and response & carry out technical reviews of the Data Centre critical services Teams
Provide Technical Services support to the CLIENT Account
Provide input and carry out account reviews & audits of the Critical Environments
As appropriate establish and agree client service level agreements and standards for Power & Cooling Load Management and Design standards to ensure compliance and performance to provide Business continuity
Support Development of Data Centre Risk assessments of requirements and develop Asset Management Plans (5yr /10yr).
Support Development of Energy Management Programme within critical environments operations
Implement Appropriate Change control process covering client’s business critical areas, responsible for supporting method statement approval for Data Centres
Support Development of Technical Teams to ensure consistency in approach and delivery with appropriate Skills to achieve the goal of zero impact to business operations and client business continuity requirements
Main Interface to CBRE GWS clients on technical innovation & continuous improvement of Client Critical Data Centre Operation
Develop and maintain a service team culture within the account
Ability to produce technical reports for internal and external client
To provide development of client technical requirements through projects (BP19) as Lead Consultancy / technical support for validation of design solutions and clients representative for Commissioning & Testing (As Best Practice 11 - Handover /Commissioning & testing through Integrated System Testing (IST) operational scenario testing & final integration into the operations
Provide Benchmark feasibilities/due diligence of data centre equipment & building infrastructure fabric
To develop key relationships at a Senior Level within the clients organizations that will benefit both parties commercially and reputational
Build an Industry recognised reputation within the Environment of ‘World Class Data Centre Operations’ Best Practice.
Provide Support to Commercial bids & scoping of Critical Services Opportunities
Support client bids and strategic outsourcing through infrastructure and operational due diligence
To be part of Global Best Practices organization to provide input and review of critical environments solutions.
Personal Experience/Qualifications/Skills
Engineering Degree or equivalent
Chartered Engineer (desirable)
Proven leadership skills
At least 7-10 years’ experience in senior role in Critical Services operations / design / testing and commissioning
Experience in professional services
Experience and knowledge of Data Centre Commissioning & Testing processes and procedures
Knowledge and experience of Data Centre Load and Airflow Management
Ability to operate and give direction within a wide cultural diverse portfolio
Able to work under pressure and meet deadlines
Must be self-motivated and able to work with minimum supervision
Must have a flexible approach and a sense of teamwork essential
Advances people / relationship management skills and an ability to communicate at all levels
Exceptional written and oral communication skills.
Knowledge of redundancy levels and relation to operational risk.
Understanding of relationship of technical strategies within a critical facility environment.
Knowledge of procedures and customer requirements in critical facilities.
Knowledge of mechanical and electrical distribution system support and equipment function.
Experience of leading operations and delivering business goals
PC literate.
Ability to manage through others, without direct control.
Extensive experience of machine room operations and experience of power, UPS, CPS, distribution, cooling etc.
