AWS Specialist Solutions Architects (SSAs) are technologists with deep domain-specific expertise, able to address advanced concepts and feature designs. As part of the AWS sales organization, SSAs work with customers who have complex challenges that require expert-level knowledge to solve. SSAs craft scalable, flexible, and resilient technical architectures that address those challenges. The Worldwide Specialist Organization (WWSO) is part of AWS Sales, Marketing, and Global Services (SMGS), which is responsible for driving revenue, adoption, and growth from the largest and fastest growing small- and mid-market accounts to enterprise-level customers including public sector. We work backwards from our customer’s most complex and business critical problems to build and execute go-to-market plans that turn AWS ideas into multi-billion-dollar businesses. WWSO teams include business development, specialist and technical solutions architecture. As part of WWSO, you'll provide expertise across the entire life cycle of an AWS customer initiative, from developing ideas for new services to accelerating the adoption of established businesses. AWS Sales, Marketing, and Global Services (SMGS) is responsible for driving revenue, adoption, and growth from the largest and fastest growing small- and mid-market accounts to enterprise-level customers including public sector.

Key job responsibilities

• Represent the voice of the customer; bring customer feedback to product teams to influence feature development and future product roadmap.

• Provide advanced technical knowledge to your domain aligned GTM teams to unblock our customers’ largest and most critical business challenges.

• Act as a thought leader sharing best practices through forums such as AWS blogs, whitepapers, reference architectures and public-speaking events such as AWS Summit, AWS re: Invent, etc.

• Partner with Business Development teams to define the technical components of best in class GTM concepts, solutions, and initiatives.

• Develop and support an AWS internal community of technical subject matter experts worldwide. Create field enablement materials for the broader SA population, to help them understand how to integrate Amazon Web Services solutions into customer architectures.

About the team

As part of the Worldwide Specialist Team, you will help lead the global GTM plan for HPC in Healthcare and Life Sciences. You are a leader for specialists, architects, partners, and account teams around the world and set direction and standards for how we solve customer problems in your area of expertise. You partner with technical and business teams and bring the voice of the customer into our product development roadmap. The WW team sees the big picture and sets the plan so the world’s most customer obsessed technical teams can make history.

About the team

The WWSO HCLS AI/ML team are Subject Matter Experts (SME) who help healthcare and life sciences customers design and build machine learning solutions that leverage the AI stack on AWS. This team partners with other SAs, Sales, Business Development and the AI/ML Service teams to enable customer adoption and revenue attainment. Specialist SAs play a critical role in capturing customer feedback, advocating for roadmap enhancements, and anticipating customer requirements as they work backwards from their needs. This team develops blogs, reference implementations, labs, and presentations to evangelize AWS AI design patterns and best practices for healthcare and life sciences industry. In addition, they mentor and train the broader SA population, to help other SA’s understand how to integrate the AI stack into healthcare and life sciences customer architectures. This team has the opportunity to help shape and execute a strategy to build mindshare and broad use of AI on AWS within Healthcare & Life Sciences (HCLS) enterprise customers. This team works hands-on with machine learning and will connect technology with measurable business value in addition to thinking strategically about business, products, and technical challenges.

Basic Qualifications

• Experience in design/implementation/consulting experience of distributed applications

• Experience in management of technical, customer facing resources

• Experience in Artifical Intelligence, Machine Learning, and Generative AI.

• Experience in of machine learning model development and lifecycle

• Hands-on experience with python, R or other programming languages and independently building prototype applications and building with libraries like PyTorch, Tensorflow, MxNet and ScikitLearn

Preferred Qualifications

• History of successful technical consulting and/or architecture engagements with large-scale customers or enterprises

• Experience migrating or transforming legacy customer solutions to the cloud

• Familiarity with common enterprise services and working knowledge of software development tools and methodologies

• Strong written and verbal communication skills with a high degree of comfort speaking with executives, IT Management, and developers.

• Experience working within software development or Internet-related industries

• AWS Solution Architecture certification or relevant cloud expertise

• Computer Science /relevant degree and/or experience highly desired
