Specialist Solutions Architect, AWS Storage Technologies. Amazon Web Services (AWS) is looking for an experienced Storage Solutions Architect to guide our customers on data storage best practices and to help shape the future growth of our storage services. As a storage Subject Matter Expert (SME), you will be an authority on architectures that leverage AWS services to increase availability and reduce costs for our customers.In this role, you'll be instrumental in driving the large-scale adoption of AWS Storage services by partnering closely with our storage Business Development and Sales teams. Your role will involve thought leadership by discovering innovative methods to enhance customer experiences and developing our storage services through customer feedback. As our portfolio of storage services continues to grow, you will leverage your passion for learning to come up to speed quickly. As an SME, you will be called upon frequently to present to customers and other AWS teams. You will also be responsible for developing materials that educate our field teams on integrating AWS Storage into customer architectures.

AWS Sales, Marketing, and Global Services (SMGS) is responsible for driving revenue, adoption, and growth from the largest and fastest growing small- and mid-market accounts to enterprise-level customers including public sector. The AWS Global Support team interacts with leading companies and believes that world-class support is critical to customer success. AWS Support also partners with a global list of customers that are building mission-critical applications on top of AWS services.

Key job responsibilities

  • Enable the AWS SA community to design cost-optimized, secure, and scalable storage architectures

  • Help AWS customers adopt well-architected storage solutions

  • Build technical trusted advisor relationships with internal and external customers

  • Refine best practices for storage services and solutions

  • Contribute to service roadmaps by identifying customer needs

Basic Qualifications

  • Detailed knowledge of Storage, Applications, Server technology, and Network Security

  • Ability to think strategically about business, product, and technical challenges

  • Advisory/consulting experience, including global accounts and large commercial customers

  • Strong verbal and written communications skills are a must, as well as the ability to work effectively across internal and external organizations and virtual teams

  • Demonstrable ability to learn new concepts and technologies, and apply them to provide the highest quality business outcomes for customers

Preferred Qualifications

  • Professional experience architecting/operating cloud solutions · Understanding of AWS Storage Services such as S3, Glacier, EFS, FSx, EBS, AWS Storage Gateway (SGW), and Snowball. Experience with AWS in production is a plus

  • Understanding of the role that networking plays in complex storage architectures · Experienced in technical enablement through content creation and speaking engagements

  • Good understanding of various scripting languages like PowerShell, Python, and Bash Bachelors or equivalent work experience

  • Comfortable addressing large audiences

  • Familiar with enterprise IT storage architectures and their role in working with large-scale production applications
