Description
We’re looking for a talented lawyer to support our dynamic aviation businesses. Amazon Air operates a global air cargo network with a fleet of over 100 cargo aircraft serving more than 70 airports in North America, Europe, and Asia. Amazon Prime Air has developed an automated drone system that delivers packages to our customers in less than 60 minutes using sophisticated, industry-leading sense-and-avoid technology. Prime Air brings together more than a decade of innovation in aerospace, robotics, software, and manufacturing to ensure the safety, reliability, and scalability of our service.
Key job responsibilities
You’ll be embedded with the Amazon Air and Prime Air leadership teams, leading a team of lawyers partnering with the business to continually improve the experiences of our customers and optimize our transportation and logistics network.
You’ll serve as Amazon’s lead counsel on aviation-related operational, safety, regulatory, and commercial matters. You'll help shape longer term strategy and resolve issues that arise in our relationships with airline partners, airports, suppliers, service providers, and regulators worldwide. You’ll develop strategies for handling legal issues in creative, business-centric ways and build processes that address risk and allow the business flexibility and freedom to move quickly.

Basic Qualifications
10+ years of legal practice experience, with at least 10 years working in the airline, aviation, aerospace or logistics sectors
United States Juris Doctor degree and membership in at least one state bar
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working closely with and advising senior executives of an organization or equivalent
Experience working independently and directly with all levels of legal and business partners or equivalent
Ability to work effectively and demonstrate sound judgment in fast-paced, ambiguous situations
Ability to work independently while being able to contribute successfully to cross-functional teams
Excellent organizational skills, ability to manage multiple projects at once, follow through, and meet deadlines
