Amazon Procurement Manager, Surface Transportation in London, United Kingdom

Amazon Transportation Services (ATS) is looking for a detail-oriented, analytical, technically skilled, innovative, hands-on, and customer-obsessed Procurement Manager. In this role, you will drive the sourcing of services that support the growth of the Amazon's Middle Mile network.

Key job responsibilities

  • You are responsible for the procurement of a specific Surface Transportation category in our middle mile network. Your sourcing footprint covers EU and UK.

  • You will define procurement strategies for your area of responsibility and set up key Procurement KPIs to measure, monitor and improve metrics such as Total Cost of Ownership.

  • You will work closely with a team of Operations, Program and Product Managers to drive the collection and implementation of requirements, ensure alignment with corporate objectives and contractual obligations.

A day in the life

Team work and cross-functional dependencies are part of our day to day in Amazon. You will be expected to work closely with the Amazon Fleet Programs, Operations and Finance teams. The candidate has influence and networking ability to deliver in highly ambiguous environment.

Basic Qualifications

  • A degree

  • Relevant professional experience in procurement

  • Advanced proficiency in verbal and written English and in the local language

  • Relevant experience working with the MS Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) in a professional environment

  • Relevant experience in using data analytics to solve problems such as customer, partner or business performance issues

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in logistics, transportation, supply chain or distribution

  • Experience of communicating with a wide range of stakeholders, including your peers and leadership

  • A bachelor’s, master’s or advanced degree in business management, economics, law, engineering or supply chain and logistics
