ROLE DESCRIPTION

As an Owner Researcher, you will be focusing on the largest owners within the commercial real estate industry, capturing market-critical information that enables our clients to make informed, high impact business decisions regarding the largest property owners across the world. CoStar Group’s research contributes to the most important segment of our economy, helping businesses open offices, stores, and warehouse and manufacturing facilities. RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop a deep understanding of the top owners and specifically all companies that you are assigned. Understand how broader economic trends impact assigned companies.

  • Assist in the creation of an accurate and complete database of all owned assets. Track new developments, expansions, renovations, and property transactions for all assigned companies on an ongoing basis.

  • Updating and maintaining the hierarchies and contacts within your companies to ensure a seamless process for our clients within the owner product.

  • Analyze websites to ensure completeness and accuracy of all the largest owners’ properties.

  • Monitor quarterly conference calls, financial supplements, and investor presentations for additional property details that may not be disclosed otherwise.

  • Effectively build and maintain mutually beneficial relationships with companies in your assigned coverage list, including investor relations contacts and members of acquisition or asset management teams at each company.

  • Work closely with sales, field, tenant, market research, and comps teams to minimize duplication of data collection and to maximize the value of the owner product.

  • Develop and maintain a relationship with our Market Analysts and News teams to ensure that all news-worthy events and trends are picked up in a timely manner, and that company movements in a particular market are communicated effectively.

  • Work closely with owner clients and sales to provide clients with the ability to derive the most value possible from their subscription.

  • Work with your manager, director, and product developers to assist in the build out of a new product specifically for owners. This includes recommendations for collection of additional data, as well as product testing and feedback.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelors’ degree or equivalent experience

  • Experience in a customer service environment, ideally within a corporate context

  • Excellent communication skills, ability to deal with people at all levels of seniority.

  • Demonstrate a strong interest in the commercial real estate industry.

  • Experience and demonstrated proficiency with Excel that includes the ability to manipulate data, filter and develop basic formulas

  • Natural curiosity, persistence, and ability to conduct thorough investigative research

  • Proven success performing to metrics or key performance indicators (KPI)
