Amazon EMEA Privacy Counsel, AWS Legal in London, United Kingdom

Description

Do you have experience representing multinational companies on data privacy and cyber security issues, solving complex privacy issues, and developing governance frameworks and processes to comply with global privacy laws? If so, you may be the person we’re looking for to serve as Privacy Counsel for Amazon Web Services. Amazon Web Services is at the forefront of the "cloud" computing and service industry, providing IT infrastructure services such as on-demand compute capacity, storage, content delivery, database services, browsers and more. As Privacy Counsel, you’ll work with lawyers and business leaders throughout the AWS organization to prepare for and comply with new or evolving privacy laws and regulations, help build innovative new products and services, and develop the organization’s long-term strategy for privacy.

Basic Qualifications

  • Significant post-qualification legal experience gathered in-house or in private practice, with a minimum of 10+ years of legal experience.

  • Exceptional expertise and experience in Data and Privacy matters or related regulatory matters.

  • Experience with global privacy laws, including European and U.S. law.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Understanding of internet services and applications and related technologies.

  • Experience advising on privacy legal issues related to cloud computing services.

  • Ability to set, drive strategy, and provide guidance to the team.

  • Ability to exercise sound judgment in mission-critical projects, working independently and often in ambiguous situations.

  • Ability to work cross-functionally with a variety of stakeholders.
