We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced sustainability professional to join our Group Responsible Business team as our Group Climate & Nature Manager. You will develop and guide the delivery of Kingfisher’s group climate change and nature commitments. Responsibilities:
Lead the development of Kingfisher’s group climate change commitments and policies and support the successful translation of commitments and policies into Group functions’ and retail banners’ plans.
Own the development of Kingfisher’s Group-wide Climate Transition Plan and ongoing use of climate- and nature-related financial scenario modelling and analysis in partnership with key third-party advisers.
Develop Kingfisher’s approach to identifying and assessing climate risks and opportunities in line with the Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD) in collaboration with key Group functions (e.g., risk, financial planning), and work with colleagues to ensure annual reporting meets TCFD requirements.
In partnership with Kingfisher’s timber and forestry experts, you’ll manage the development of the group’s Forest Positive commitments and support the translation of actions, commitments and compliance requirements into group functions’ and retail banners’ plans.
Skills & experience:
Deep technical knowledge and experience of energy, carbon accounting and modelling, emissions calculations, including knowledge of the GHG protocol.
Experience working on climate change and nature agendas in a corporate setting, including the development of climate reduction targets, climate transition planning and delivery against wider climate change and nature commitments.
Knowledge of scope 1, 2 and 3 emissions, and experience working with cross-functional teams towards a goal of reducing energy and emissions within direct and indirect operations
Keen interest and passion for emerging nature, biodiversity, and related human rights issues. Knowledge of certification schemes and industry standards such as FSC, PEFC, TNFD, SBTN a bonus
Ability to closely partner and manage internal & external relationships at all levels including executives, with the skill to bring people with competing agenda’s together towards a common goal.

We’re adopting a hybrid approach with some office and some home working, on average 40-60% in the office. Your office location? This person will be UK based with our Head Office in Paddington, or we could explore the option of being based in one of our other retail banners head offices in Southampton or Yeovil.
