WSP have an opportunity for an experienced Commercial Design Manager at our Chancery Lane office. As a member of the London Building Services Team, you will work with Project Directors, Project Managers and Team Members to provide advice and support the team throughout the project lifecycle to minimise commercial risk and maximise financial returns in line with the Discipline’s objectives.

Project Delivery

  • Supporting Project Directors in delivering complex and multidisciplinary projects across all sectors

  • Assist engineers and project managers with resource management and the update of cost forecasts

  • Provide support and assistance in preparing project fee proposals

  • Lead in change management with timely issue of all relevant notices

  • Lead in project invoicing and management of the commercial aspects of the project

  • Support engineers and project managers with document management

  • Coordinating between various project team members ensuring projects are delivered on time, to budget and to the agreed quality standard

  • On a Project basis, provide input to the Discipline’s risk and opportunity register

  • Ensure that contract & project reviews are undertaken

  • Developing, maintaining and implementing stakeholder management plans.

Skills

Proven ability and track record in the majority of the following

  • Experience working in a Project Environment

  • A good understanding of commercial and financial project management

  • Similar experience within the services sector

  • Experience using enterprise project lifecycle software such as Oracle

  • Excellent administrative skills including document management and producing reports and other typical documents

  • Able to work effectively under pressure, supporting others to do the same

  • Strong organisational skills – can effectively manage several processes

  • Proven capability of working in a collaborative environment with a strong teamwork ethos

  • Experience working on projects with time, cost and quality constraints

  • Proficient in the use of MS Office software

  • Strong drive with sound judgement. Quickly establishes credibility & sphere of influence

Qualifications and Work Experience

  • Degree qualified

  • Relevant experience within a similar role

  • Commercial awareness

  • Experience/Ability to work in a multi-disciplinary and multi team environment

  • Excellent communication skills
