About this role

EMEA ETF Engineering – ETF Integrity

The EMEA ETF Engineering team rests on 2 key pillars – ETF Development and ETF Integrity. The pillars are structured to deliver against BlackRock’s strategic priorities.

This is an exciting role on the ETF Integrity team. You will be responsible for accelerating product evolution, promoting index innovation and managing regulatory risk across EMEA ETFs and Index Investments. Working closely with our Portfolio Manager Group (PMG), Global Product Solutions (GPS), Risk and Quantitative Analysis (RQA) and other functions, you will play a key role in ensuring that our products continue to meet their sustainable commitments and continue improving in a dynamic market and regulatory landscape.

In this role, you will be

  • Responsible for ensuring the ongoing adherence of our Sustainable products to their ESG characteristics through regular monitoring, exception resolution, and the identification and implementation of solutions to prevent recurrence.

  • Expanding the team’s capacity by creating efficiencies through technology and scaled solutions.

  • Implementing innovative metrics to measure product and index quality across different product segments.

  • Driving and influencing decisions through close collaboration with internal partner groups and through engaging index providers.

  • Resolving operating incidents, market disruptions and other ad-hoc events to protect the product franchise.

  • Developing deep expertise of our existing range and understanding regulatory change and its impact to our products.

Skills and experience

  • Knowledge of a programming language and the ability to code

  • Ability to learn quickly and simplify and communicate complex concepts

  • Independently problem solve, create solutions and drive forward strategic priorities

  • Ability to grasp technical content quickly and communicate it clearly to different audiences

  • Excellent quantitative skills and confidence working with data

  • High degree of organisation with the ability to prioritise between multiple initiatives to meet competing deadlines

  • Strong attention to detail in the preparation of quantitative outputs and written materials/presentations

  • Self-motivation and ability to working effectively, both, independently and as part of a team

A plus, but not a must have

  • Strong knowledge of collective investment schemes, their investment strategies and index methodologies (previous experience at an investment manager or index provider a distinct plus)

  • Deep understanding of different asset classes, in particular equities, fixed income and commodities

  • Knowledge of European regulations relating to the asset management industry and in particular the UCITS and SFDR framework

Qualifications:

  • University degree calibre candidate

  • IMC, CFA or MBA a plus
