About this role

Business Unit Overview

The iShares & Wealth UK team are responsible for client relationship management, strategy, and business development with BlackRock's clients across the UK including UK & Global Private Banks, UK Retail, Asset Managers, Digital Wealth providers, UK Wealth & Advisory Firms, key UK distribution platforms & UK retail Fund of Funds. This includes the distribution of iShares, Index Mutual Funds, Mutual Funds, liquid & illiquid Alternative Investments, and bespoke client solutions.

This position lies within the Banks coverage channel and will specifically focus on growing our relationships with UK & Global Private Banks. Within this, there will be a specific focus on driving whole portfolio interactions with CIOs, PMs and asset allocators across both tactical and strategic asset allocation.

Key responsibilities

This position is London based, focusing on delivering the full breadth of products across BlackRock’s platform including index funds & ETFs, active funds and alternatives, as well as working with relevant teams on bespoke solutions and technology. Given the scale of BlackRock’s platform, this will involve collaborating with global partner groups and being able to navigate the firm internally as required to deliver for our clients.

  • Deepen relationships with key private banking relationships leveraging the entirety of BlackRock’s platform

  • Own and develop our strategy for interacting with CIOs, PMs and asset allocators in the UK

  • Contribute to the overall EMEA strategy, working with both management and marketing

  • Act as a champion for markets for the iSW UK team

  • Collaborate with the BlackRock Investment Institute and investment strategy to commercialise thought leadership around markets and portfolio research

  • Translate market movements into commercial opportunities

  • Drive portfolio consulting engagements

Knowledge/Experience

  • 5-8 years of relevant industry experience

  • Excellent knowledge of financial markets

  • Ability to break down complex investment ideas and effectively communicate with clients

  • Understanding of evolution of and current outlook for the UK and Global Private Banking landscape

  • Understanding of different asset management products (index / active / alternatives) desirable but not required

Skills/Qualifications

  • Strong academic background with a minimum of a Bachelors degree.

  • Fluency in English (verbal and written)

  • Professional qualification such as CFA and IMC desirable but not required

  • Knowledge of Bloomberg desirable but not required

  • Outstanding communication and relationship management skills, being comfortable developing relationships across all seniority levels, both internally and externally

  • Strong presentation / negotiation skills; able to leverage and enhance client relationships with a focus on commercial outcomes

  • Ability to quickly assimilate and synthesise large volumes of information and effectively communicate these to internal and external stakeholders

  • Motivated by a strong sense of purpose and driven by a relentless focus on clients
