Main Purpose of the Role:

The Client Data Quality team is part of the Client Management Services (CMS) department and is situated within the Corporate and Investment Banking Division of MUFG Bank. However, this function acts as a centralised 1st line support team, providing support to both MUFG Bank London and MUFG Securities.

CMS supports all front office areas throughout EMEA across Bank and Securities with responsibility and effective oversight of circa 7,000 existing counterparts.

This role is to support the Client Data Quality Lead with planning and execution of the related activities across the required business lines including data quality attestation and remediation efforts to maintain the accuracy of our counterparty data and support strategic data quality projects as we expand our scope.

In this role you will be responsible for:

  • Running BAU Data Quality Frameworks and ensure these are published within agreed timeframes to effectively guard the organisation.

  • Managing Internal Front Office stakeholders to support data clean-up / validation exercises through collation & action of responses.

  • Data Reconciliation between our client base and client static data points to identify discrepancies and data quality issues and escalated when required.

  • Supporting with design, implementation and monitoring of Data Quality rules

  • Working with Business and system owners to remediate data and feed back to golden source systems.

  • Preparing MI showing progress of data validation exercises and progress of data quality improvement.

  • Proactive in identifying data quality issues and supporting both tactical and strategic data remediation (both for MUFG Bank and MUFG Securities).

  • Identifying opportunities for enhancing our end-to-end customer experience through data quality improvements

  • Interact & communicate effectively at all levels and build strong working relationship on an ongoing basis with business and IT partners.

  • Run & develop internal controls to continuously monitor data quality; implement processes to detect, correct and prevent invalid data & errors.

  • Supporting review and updates across procedures and ensure controls are run on the agreed frequency.

  • Supporting continual deep dive and trend analyses of data to provide the wider CMS team and Senior Management with key insights.

  • Managing regulatory Data Quality controls to ensure clients classifications have been validated and fit for purpose.

  • Supporting strategic projects to expand and enhance the Data Quality scope.

  • Broad knowledge of investment and corporate banking products and services and how they impact or support clients across sectors / regions

  • Proven stakeholder management skills

  • Ability to operate with a limited level of direct supervision

  • Can exercise independence of judgement and autonomy

  • Demonstrates initiative especially in a matrix organization

Work Experience:

  • One or more of the following is essential :

  • Data SME background with a strong understanding of Client Data and the importance of how Data Quality supports both the client experience and mitigates internal risk.

  • Experience in Front Office (1LoD) management environment working with a team of data analysts

  • Experience within Corporate & Investment Banking, Capital Markets or Securities and exposure to related entities is essential
