Lompoc Valley Medical Center CCC-Rehabilitation Manager in Lompoc, California
This position reports to the Director of the Rehabilitation Services.
The Rehabilitation Manager administers, directs and coordinates activities of patient care within the physical therapy, occupational therapy, and speech language pathology services at the CCC.
Assists the Director of Rehabilitation Services with development and implementation of policies and procedures in rehabilitation services.
Functions as a role model to the department staff by participating in the delivery of patient care, acting as a clinical/expert resource and mentor to promote Principle Responsibilities including; support of hospital mission and values, performance improvement activities, management of patient care personnel, management of PT/OT/SLP department, and the management of patient care.
Must work well with supervisors, co-workers, patients/residents, family members and visitors. District Responsibility:

Professional Development Position Duties/Responsibility:
Implementation of therapy services utilizing current best practices and interdisciplinary teamwork.
Manages the productivity of staff to Ensure fiscal responsibility.
Manages the rehab staff to monitor for areas of concern or improvement.
Ensures therapy staff complete all documentation, including client session notation, progress reports and administrative paperwork thoroughly and in a timely manner.
Manages RUGS to ensure that RUG categories are met and that the care plan team is aware of any changes or updates.
Assists with the intake process by communicating with the DON to provide recommendation on accepting patients for SNF following chart review and PLOF..
Schedule and manage meetings Monday through Friday to promote communication between disciplines.
Develop and execute monthly in-services for CNA’s and RNA’s and provide any needed training for the RNA program.
Attend interdisciplinary meetings Monday-Friday to report patients present levels, goals for therapy, and DC planning.
Communicates with physicians regarding patient significant changes to condition.
Responsible for set up of treatment area and clean up following treatment.
Able to interpret data from all areas of patient chart when determining patient needs.
Communicates with patient and family regarding therapy goals and needs prior to discharge..
Delegates care to physical therapy staff and maintains proper supervision of patient care.
Able to utilize the computerized charting system.
Communicates with Director of Rehabilitation Services as well as the CCC Administrator and keeps him/or her informed of significant issues regarding the department and the facility in a timely manner.
Functions as a role model to the department and staff of the delivery of patient care.
Assist in the interviewing and evaluation of interns and trainees.
Responsible for adjusting per diem staffing as caseload warrants.

The ability to manage the rehabilitation team to ensure proper delivery of care and maintain positive department morale.
The ability to maintain a valid CA driver’s license and be insurable by the District’s courier.
The ability to keyboard and use Word Processing programs.

The ability to have positive personal interactions with staff, patients/residents and visitors.
The ability to do all physical elements of a Physical Therapist.
Education: PT/OT with current valid California License
Experience: One year of Experience in Rehabilitative Services, PT or OT.
Cert/License: PT/OT License, Valid California Driver’s license.
Skills/Ability: Comprehensive advanced knowledge of rehabilitative services to patients of all ages. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Exhibits the ability to organize work assignments and follow through with accuracy, exercise good judgment, demonstrative initiative, emotional stability, tact and poise, problem-solving skills and proficiency in computer skills.
