Overview We are searching for a motivated and hard-working individual to help continue the growth of the EmployAbility Clinic at the Institute for Disability Research, Policy and Practice at Utah State University. The EmployAbility Clinic assists youth and adults with disabilities in all aspects of preparing for, obtaining, and maintaining meaningful employment. We have seen significant growth in the past year and need another key staff member (Teacher., Adults with Disabilities) This staff member will work closely with the Program Coordinator to help continue this growth. This position may be between 0.75 - 1.00 FTE depending on program needs and the candidate selected.

Responsibilities

  • Teach employment-related social skills to learners with disabilities in group or one-on-one tutoring sessions.
  • Provide community-based instruction focusing on job exploration and job readiness skills.
  • Conduct interest inventories and skills assessments, develop resumes, teach current job search strategies and tools, develop interviewing skills, and manage employer encounters.
  • Provide one-on-one, real-time job coaching, including education on how to handle specific job tasks and display appropriate behaviors.
  • Engage in job development tasks to create additional community-based employment opportunities for individuals with disabilities.
  • Engage in employer and public education outreach regarding the benefits of hiring and working with people with disabilities.
  • Write thorough and professional client reports.
  • Coordinate transportation with clients and students to prospective job sites.
  • Perform other job-related responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications Minimum Qualifications

  • A bachelor's degree in a related field plus two years of experience, or any other equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Job offer is contingent upon the successful completion of a background check. Preferred Qualifications

  • Possess or be able to obtain within 90 days of employment, a current Association of Community Rehabilitation Educators (ACRE) Certification.

  • Experience working in employment with youth and adults with disabilities. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
