Gaining Early Awareness and Readiness for Undergraduate Program (GEAR UP) is a federally funded grant working with middle and high school students to increase enrollment and success in higher education.
Utah State University is looking to hire a part-time hourly program assistant.
This hourly position will support the USU STARS! GEAR UP office with programmatic and design responsibilities, as well as additional office tasks as needed. Main responsibilities will include: managing graphic design for events, campaigns, and school needs; assisting program coordinator with communication, upcoming activities, and organization; event planning and facilitation; assisting with social media content; and random tasks aligned with grant and office needs.
This is a soft-funded position that relies on annual funding from a federal sponsor.
Total 25-40 hours depending on time of year
Job offers will be contingent upon the successful completion of a background check.
Associate's degree or two years' experience in related field
Experience with design skills with strong typographical editing experiences
Highly organized with good notetaking skills
Able to prioritize tasks and work with little oversight
Event planning and facilitation experience
Flexibility to work increased / decreased hours dependent on time of the year
Bachelor's degree or four years' experience in related field
Experience with Photography – taking and editing of pictures
Spanish speaker with translation skills

$18.00 per hour, commensurate with experience
Employees work indoors and are protected from weather and/or contaminants, but not, necessarily, occasional temperature changes. The employee is regularly required to sit and often uses repetitive hand motions.
