How will you make an impact?

Thermo Fisher Scientific is seeking a motivated Systems Design Engineer to join our Innovation team in Logan, UT. As part our Bioproduction Group, you will have the opportunity to support the developers and manufacturers of biological-based therapeutics and vaccines.

What will you do?

  • Drive process and product innovation by adapting both existing and novel single-use technologies.

  • Support new product development pipeline through collaboration with the Innovation team and other R&D teams to generate new product ideas and evaluate new technologies for feasibility and application into bioprocess workflows.

  • Drive activities, including hands-on and delegated testing, writing test result reporting, presentations and interpretation.

How will you get Here?

Education:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (biological, biomedical, bioprocess, biotechnology, or chemical) with 3 years of experience, or a Master's degree with 1 year of experience.

Experience:

  • Laboratory research or biotechnology process development experience.

  • Knowledge of general bioprocess unit operations (cell culture, microbial fermentation, harvest & recovery) and cGMP (Current Good Manufacturing Practices) environments.

  • Proficiency in automation and instrumentation, including Delta-V, PLC, PAC based bioreactor control systems, and supporting unit operations.

Knowledge, skills, abilities:

  • Strong written and oral communication skills, software proficiency, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
