    What You’ll Work On

    The Financial Director will be responsible for overseeing all financial aspects and functions of the Campbell Scientific Business Unit (CSBU), including financial planning, risk management, and financial reporting. This individual will work closely with the executive team to support strategic decision making, optimize the company’s financial performance, and drive long-term strategy decisions and execution to grow Campbell Scientific’s market share in the Environmental, Infrastructure, and Renewable Energy markets.

    You’ll Support Your Team by Performing the Following Key Tasks

  • Financial Strategy and Leadership

  • Develop and implement the company’s financial strategy in alignment with overall business goals, focusing on profitability, growth, and operational efficiency.

  • Provide financial leadership for both the hardware and software product offerings, ensuring an integrated financial approach.

  • Lead the financial planning and analysis, including budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning.

  • Financial Operations Management

  • Oversee all accounting, tax, and regulatory functions, ensuring compliance with legal standards and accurate reporting.

  • Manage cash flow, working capital, and cost management to ensure financial stability while supporting business growth initiatives.

  • Monitor and report on Campbell Scientific financial performance, including developing KPIs for both hardware and SaaS revenue streams.

  • Establish internal controls for monitoring assets, capital investments, controlling costs, and measuring liquidity.

  • Interprets asset rations, break-even analysis reports, profit margins, operating costs, stock value (if applicable), and other metrics used in measuring fiscal stability.

  • Risk Management and Compliance

  • Identify, assess, and manage financial risks related to the Campbell Scientific manufacturing, R&D investment, and SaaS business.

  • Ensure compliance with global financial regulations and implement best practices for internal controls, auditing, and risk management.

  • Develop financial policies and procedures that support scaling the company while minimizing risks.

  • Prepare for audits and make certain that financial reporting is completed properly, and that all documentation follows applicable regulations (including GAAP, FASB, or SEC mandates).

  • Leadership

  • Provide leadership, insights, and influence on strategy, execution, and business decisions, particularly those involving product pricing, investment in new technology, and market expansion.

  • Lead and mentor the CSBU finance team, fostering a high-performance culture and promoting professional development.

  • Investor and Stakeholder Relations

  • Prepare and present financial reports to the Board of Directors and investors, providing clear insights into financial health, risks, and opportunities.

  • Work closely with external stakeholders, including auditors, regulators, and financial institutions to maintain positive relationships.

    What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or a related field; MBA or CPA preferred.

  • Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in financial leadership roles, preferably within a technology or manufacturing company.

  • Experience managing the financial operations of a company that manufactures electronics and/or offers SaaS products. Ability to drive strategic direction.

  • Strong knowledge of revenue recognition principles for both hardware and SaaS, as well as familiarity with R&D investment cycles.

  • Exceptional planning, analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to provide data-driven insights and solutions.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor high-performing teams.

  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to present complex financial data to both financial and non-financial stakeholders.

  • Strong ethical standards and integrity with a commitment to compliance and transparency.

    Work Environment

The job operates in a clerical office setting in Logan, UT. Travel may occasionally be required. The use of standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, scanners, and filing cabinets is routine.

Physical Requirements

The position requires sitting for extended periods of time, use of hands, and occasional reaching. Requires the ability to see.
