Overview Utah State University (USU) invites applications for Deputy Title IX Coordinator (AA/EO Specialist SR). The Deputy Title IX Coordinator participates in activities and efforts to build and sustain a safe and equitable campus that is free from discrimination and harassment on the basis of race, color, religion, sex (including sexual harassment, pregnancy, childbirth, or pregnancy-related conditions), national origin, age, genetic information, sexual orientation or gender identity/expression, disability, status as a protected veteran, or any other status protected by university policy or local, state, or federal law. This includes investigating alleged violations of Title IX of the Education Amendments Act of 1972, including sexual assault, domestic violence, dating violence, and stalking. The Deputy Title IX Coordinator will report to the Office of Equity Executive Director and will be based at the main campus in Logan, Utah. The Deputy Title IX Coordinator will be expected to travel to other USU locations throughout the state.

The Deputy Title IX Coordinator will conduct initial reviews and complete investigations involving faculty, staff, and students at USU. This process will include conducting a preliminary review of the complaint, making determinations concerning the necessity of a formal investigation, interviewing relevant individuals, and reviewing documents or other evidence. The Deputy Title IX Coordinator will be expected to understand which issues are appropriate for them to resolve independently and which issues need to be referred to the Office of Equity Executive Director or the university's Title IX Coordinator.

The Deputy Title IX Coordinator will work as a member of a talented and collaborative team that fosters a university-wide culture characterized by equity and inclusion, along with an investigation process rooted in equity, fairness, and respect.

Responsibilities The Deputy Title IX Coordinator will have a broad scope of responsibility in investigating and reporting sexual misconduct and discrimination incidents at all of USU's campuses, and in assisting with the university's compliance under the Department of Justice Resolution Agreement. The Deputy Title IX Coordinator will work to strengthen the university's culture that supports an academic and work environment where its students, faculty, and staff are able to thrive free from discrimination or sex-based harassment.

  • Assist with USU's Office of Equity efforts at all USU campuses, including USU Eastern, USU Blanding, and USU statewide campuses and centers. This position may be required to travel occasionally to USU locations within the state.
